CMap Announces Leadership Transition with Renewed AI Focus

Professional services software provider CMap has announced a leadership change as it sharpens its focus on artificial intelligence.

Founder Dave Graham will step into a new role as Founder & AI Strategy Advisor, while long-standing executive Jon Stead takes over as CEO.

Graham, who founded CMap with the aim of building long-term client partnerships around great products and people, said:

“To deliver on my passion for AI as an enabler for CMap and our clients, I am moving into a new role as Founder & AI Strategy Advisor, and handing the reins of CEO to Jon Stead, who is well placed to lead the business through the next stage of growth.”

Stead, who joined in 2020 and has overseen strategy, product, marketing and sales during a period where the company tripled in size, added:

“With Dave moving into his new Founder & AI Strategy Advisor role, we’re accelerating our investment in our AI product vision. I feel truly privileged to lead this incredible team of CMappers, who are a key part of the value we provide to clients every single day.”

In his new position, Graham will dedicate his time to embedding AI across CMap’s product suite and internal operations, with the goal of making “CMap AI a natural, intuitive and empowering part of the software our clients already rely on.”

Plumerai Secures £6.4M Series A to Expand AI for Cameras

London-based AI startup Plumerai has raised a £6.4 million ($8.7 million) Series A funding round, led by Partech and OTB Ventures with support from Acclimate Ventures and existing backers. The investment brings Plumerai’s total funding to over $17 million and will accelerate its mission to bring AI-powered vision to trillions of devices.

Plumerai’s Tiny AI technology is already running on millions of cameras, offering detection, identification, and tracking features that run efficiently on low-power, off-the-shelf chips. The company has signed major customers such as Chamberlain Group, whose brands include myQ and LiftMaster.

The funding will also support the rollout of Vision LLM-powered features, including AI Video Search and AI Captions, designed to help users draw deeper insights from video footage at lower costs.

Plumerai CEO Roeland Nusselder said:

“We’re going to make it possible for everyone to have their own AI security guard and assistant that never gets distracted, so they feel safer and calmer than ever before… The trust of our partners and investors allows us to bring powerful AI into the physical world, beyond desktops and the cloud.”

Key partners and investors also highlighted the impact of the technology. Jishnu Kinwar, VP AI & Innovation at Chamberlain Group, noted:

“Integrating Plumerai’s Tiny AI into our smart camera lineup has allowed us to offer advanced AI features on affordable, low-power devices.”

Reza Malekzadeh, General Partner at Partech, added:

“Plumerai has clearly outperformed in every technical evaluation performed by customers. With simple over-the-air updates, they’ve been able to scale up quickly with rapid ARR growth as a result.”

Founded in 2009, Plumerai is now expanding beyond home security into enterprise security, retail, and other sectors, positioning itself at the intersection of edge AI and multimodal vision models.
