Synextra relocates to larger HQ at Birchwood Park following 42% revenue growth

Fast-growing Managed Service Provider Synextra has announced its relocation to a new headquarters at Birchwood Park, Warrington, following a year of significant expansion.

The move comes as Synextra reports 42% year-on-year revenue growth, reaching £7.3 million, alongside a 59% increase in headcount. The growth has been driven by strong demand from scaling businesses for more strategic, cloud-first IT support, particularly around Microsoft Azure services.

Founded by Chris Piggott, Synextra positions itself as a second-generation MSP, focusing on “extreme ownership”, direct access to technical experts, and proactive support for clients that have outgrown the traditional break-fix model. The company’s approach has attracted new clients such as law firms Movera and RWK Goodman, while retaining long-term partnerships with firms like Freedom Services Group and Cormar Carpets.

To accommodate its expanding team and service capabilities, Synextra’s new space at 401 Faraday, Birchwood Park offers larger, collaborative work areas, an in-house auditorium for events, and additional amenities to support company culture, including a private speakeasy for staff to unwind after hours.

Martin O’Rourke, Commercial Director at Birchwood Park, welcomed the move: “Synextra’s commitment to its people and its investment in quality align strongly with our values at Birchwood Park. We’re pleased to support them as they continue this next phase of growth.”

Founder and CEO Chris Piggott added: “We don’t aim to be the biggest – we aim to be the best. This move gives us the space to keep investing in our people and keep raising the bar for our clients.”

Synextra’s relocation marks another milestone in its journey to become one of the UK’s fastest-growing cloud and managed services partners for scaling businesses seeking a more strategic, accountable approach to technology.

Tribepad appoints Neil Armstrong as CEO to lead next phase of growth

Sheffield-based recruitment technology company Tribepad has named Neil Armstrong as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking the start of the company’s next phase of expansion and innovation. Armstrong officially stepped into the role on 3rd June 2025, following eight years driving Tribepad’s commercial strategy and growth.

Armstrong joined Tribepad after senior roles at major tech brands including Plusnet, Sky, and BT. Since joining, he has helped scale the business from £1 million to nearly £7 million in annual revenue, expanding Tribepad’s reach to more than 30 million users across 16 languages. Today, Tribepad’s platform supports hundreds of employers — among them Tesco, Greggs, Surrey County Council, and the NHS — to make hiring fairer, faster, and more accessible.

Founded in 2008 by Dean Sadler, Tribepad has grown from a Sheffield startup into one of the UK’s most recognised HR tech scale-ups, known for combining strong values with technical excellence and measurable impact. Sadler will continue to support the company during the leadership transition before moving into a non-executive role.

Under Armstrong’s leadership, Tribepad plans to invest further in product and AI innovation, alongside a strategic push into the public sector — where its platform already helps local authorities and care providers hire more effectively for vital services. The company expects its 60-strong team to grow further as it targets annual revenue growth of 15–20%.

Commenting on the opportunity ahead, Armstrong said: “Artificial intelligence is revolutionising technology, particularly in recruitment — this is an issue of national importance. This next chapter is about riding this wave of AI change to deliver smart, scalable growth.”

Headquartered in Sheffield, Tribepad continues to position itself as the trusted technology partner for employers who want recruitment solutions that combine innovation with inclusivity.

Tandem Health raises $50M Series A to build AI-native operating system for European healthcare

Nordic-founded healthtech company Tandem Health has secured $50 million in Series A funding to accelerate its mission of transforming clinical workflows across Europe with AI. The round was led by Kinnevik, with participation from Northzone, Amino Collective, and Visionaries Club.

Founded by Lukas Saari, Oliver Åstrand and Oscar Boldt-Christmas to tackle one of healthcare’s biggest contradictions — the growing administrative burden on clinicians — Tandem Health’s AI assistant already helps tens of thousands of doctors generate clinical notes automatically during patient consultations, removing the need for typing or dictation and freeing up time for human connection.

In the UK, a strategic partnership with Jacob Haddad and Laurence Bargery founded Accurx has enabled over 200,000 NHS professionals to access Tandem’s technology, making it one of the largest AI deployments in healthcare globally. To date, more than 1,000 hospitals and clinics across primary care, psychiatry, and specialist services rely on Tandem daily.

With the new funding, Tandem plans to expand beyond AI-powered medical scribing to deliver a complete AI-native operating system for clinical workflows — covering clinical coding, care coordination, and real-time decision support at the point of care. The company emphasises that its goal is not to replace clinicians but to remove friction and give them back valuable time.

Tandem Health’s team includes over 20 experienced doctors and psychologists, with operations spanning the Nordics, UK, Germany, France, Spain, and other European health systems. The approach remains rooted in local clinical realities to ensure solutions fit the diverse needs of each country’s healthcare landscape.

Georgi Ganev, CEO at Kinnevik, commented: “Few teams have impressed us like Tandem. Their clarity of vision, speed of execution, and product intuition are world-class. We’re proud to partner with them as they pioneer the next generation of healthcare infrastructure in Europe.”

With this significant Series A milestone, Tandem aims to be the trusted AI partner for healthcare providers looking to rebalance time and focus on the work only humans can do.

EdTech company Immersify, co-founded by Chloe Barrett (CEO) and Maxwell Boardman (CTO), has partnered with the NHS North Central London Cancer Alliance to launch a new interactive eLearning platform aimed at enhancing cancer care training for primary care staff. The collaboration is designed to strengthen cancer knowledge, promote early detection, and improve patient outcomes across North London.

At the centre of this initiative is the Primary Care Cancer Academy — an expert-developed, accredited resource that provides clinical and non-clinical staff with practical training on early diagnosis, prompt referral, and effective patient communication. Through immersive simulations, interactive 3D models, and progress tracking, the platform supports healthcare professionals in building skills for real-world scenarios.

"We partnered with Immersify as they provide an easy-to-use and engaging method for helping primary care staff better support patients’ experience of cancer diagnosis and care," said Oliver Gregory, Programme Lead at the North Central London Cancer Alliance.

Each module is co-created with NHS cancer specialists and rigorously quality assured to ensure all content is clinically sound and directly relevant to day-to-day practice. The Academy includes focused training on conditions such as Upper GI cancers, covering red flag symptoms, risk factors, and the critical role of early referral.

Founded by Barrett and Boardman, Immersify combines advanced 3D technology with evidence-based content to deliver learning solutions that are engaging and impactful — reflecting the NHS’s commitment to raising standards in digital education for cancer care.

This partnership represents an important step forward in addressing the challenges of cancer communication and diagnosis, empowering primary care teams to deliver more informed, compassionate, and timely support to patients across North London.
